Little is known of Charlie's (The Chasman's)
early days in music. After being influenced by Elvis, The
Stones, The Animals, Jimi Hendrix, John Mayall and The Yardbirds,
he gigged with a few New England based bands with names like
Soul Incorporated and Nobodies Children. He even shared a
stage with a band that was then called The Bob Seger System
(on not even close to the same night).
Following Woodstock, Charlie ended up in
Southern California in search of his "California Girl"
who soon became his "California Wife." They proceeded
to start a family of young rockers who started unique, original
alternative bands with names like Shattered, Lost Inside and
Leave The World.
Around this time his career in photography
led to an assignment with a legendary Corona based musical
instrument company. After photographing countless examples
of the finest custom guitars, Charlie was drawn back into
music one guitar at a time.
After a two year stint with a local Surf/Jump
Blues band called Uncle
Funny, he crossed paths with Frank (DeSande) and Dead
Man Rockin' was born. "We decided to play our favorite
songs and they turned out to be everyone's favorites,"
is the way he describes the current set list. "What makes
this band special is that everyone gives 100% to create the
"big bad sound" we like to call Dead Man Rockin'!"
