He hails originally form LA's Inner City
and developed his musical itch from listening to old radio
stations like KRLA,
KMET, and KGFJ
as well as to artists such as The
Doors, The Beatles,
Tom Jones, and early
Motown.
As he got older he came to shift his focus
to R&B and was a devoted fan of Earth, Wind and Fire as
well as the Isley Brothers. He survived the Disco era and
New Wave and in the early 90's ventured into his first band
as a singer for the Powerless
Flowers (a "post-punk with 60's flair" experiment).
Later he joined the "J"
Cade Trio as a foray into the Blues.
In the late nineties he pursued theater/acting
as a serious outlet and alternative to music. His private
study and workshop training taught him that there existed
no boundaries in performance art and it took him to a whole
new level. A serious "gut check" told him that music
was where he wished to focus his energies. In 2003 he joined
Dead Man Rockin' and has since been on a musical journey.
It's an explorers' journey to discover the
secret of Soul... The soul in each song that is buried deep
within. If he can find IT, unlock IT, and sing IT, vast treasures
of Rock, Funk, Rhythm and Blues are for the taking!
Henry feels blessed to be part of
DMR and does whatever is necessary...percussion, "shake,
rattle and roll", to get the music across.
